Requires SLPAs to practice only under the direction and supervision of a certified speech-language pathologist, with a maximum ratio of 3 assistants per supervising pathologist

Prohibits SLPAs from diagnosing disorders, interpreting assessments, developing treatment plans, making referrals, selecting augmentative communication devices, or treating medically fragile patients without continuous direct supervision

Mandates supervising speech-language pathologists to provide direct supervision documentation every 30-60 days, initiate first patient contact, prepare care plans, and maintain written supervisory plans

Excludes school speech-language pathology assistants paid solely by administrative units or state-operated programs from state regulation under this article, leaving them under Department of Education authorization
