Increases the penalty for barricading or refusing police entry using force while refusing to leave premises from a class 2 misdemeanor to a class 6 felony

Elevates the penalty for holding a hostage or unlawfully confining another person during such an incident (without a deadly weapon) from a class 1 misdemeanor to a class 5 felony

Raises the penalty for causing a peace officer to believe the person possesses a deadly weapon during the incident from a class 1 misdemeanor to a class 5 felony

Effective date of July 1, 2025, applying only to offenses committed on or after that date
