Prohibits P.O.S.T. board-certified peace officers employed by state or local governments from using public resources to campaign for or against candidates, or engaging in partisan political activity while in uniform

Defines "partisan political activity" as any action supporting or opposing a political party or candidate for public office

Exempts officers from restrictions when making government facilities available on a neutral basis, responding to press/public inquiries, or engaging in political activity while out of uniform

Violations constitute a civil infraction with fines up to $1,000 per violation and potential dismissal from employment

Any person may file an affidavit with the district attorney to initiate investigation and prosecution; the attorney general shares equal authority to prosecute violations
