Crime laboratory directors must investigate reported wrongful action within 91 days, compile a list of all cases the employee worked on, and deliver final reports to district attorneys with jurisdiction over affected cases

District attorneys must notify defendants and victims within 91 days of receiving misconduct reports; defendants have a right to counsel and post-conviction discovery related to the wrongful action

Convicted defendants may petition for post-conviction relief with time limits based on offense severity: no limit for Class 1 felonies, 3 years for other felonies, 18 months for misdemeanors, and 6 months for petty offenses

Appropriates $140,443 from the general fund to the judicial department for FY 2025-26, including 1.1 FTE for trial courts to handle resulting post-conviction proceedings
