Corrects a drafting error in Colorado's self-pay health-care estimate law (C.R.S. 25-49-106) to clarify the standard for allowable cost overruns

Final costs for health-care services must not exceed the self-pay estimate by more than 15% or more than $400, whichever is less

Medical emergencies or unforeseen medically necessary services may exceed these limits, but providers must make reasonable efforts to obtain patient consent beforehand

Takes effect 90 days after the legislative session ends, unless a referendum petition is filed (in which case it would go to voters in November 2026)
