Homeowner's insurance carriers must provide policyholders with an electronic or paper copy of their insurance policy (including declaration page and endorsements) within 3 business days of request, with the policyholder choosing the delivery method

Carriers must provide a certified copy of the policy within 30 calendar days after a written request is received by the carrier's registered agent

Insurance carriers that fail to provide a certified copy within 30 days face a $50 per day penalty beginning on the 31st day, accruing daily until the copy is provided

Carriers that violate the certified copy requirement are liable for reasonable attorney fees and costs incurred by policyholders in enforcement actions

The act takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly and applies to requests made on or after the effective date
