Encourages observances, ceremonies, and activities honoring Dr. King throughout all cities, towns, counties, school districts, and local governments in Colorado

Commends the Colorado State Board of Education for adding Dr. King's legacy and nonviolent principles to Colorado's social studies standards

Recognizes the 60th anniversaries of the Federal Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965, calling for continued commitment to their ideals

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the President, Vice President, Governor, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission, Congressional Black Caucus, and Colorado's congressional delegation
