Requires opt-in consent for educational use of facial recognition, with students above 5th grade needing both their own consent and parental consent; consent forms must be standalone and disclose data collection, purpose, and retention schedule

Mandates schools using facial recognition for safety purposes to notify students, parents, and staff, post entrance signage, and develop written policies designating authorized personnel (administrators and law enforcement only)

Limits biometric identifier retention to 18 months and provides aggrieved parties the right to seek temporary restraining orders or injunctions in district court for violations
