PERA Board of Trustees is designated as a "local public body" subject to Colorado's Open Meetings Law, requiring public meetings and transparency requirements

Trustees are limited to two consecutive four-year terms (maximum 8 years), after which they must wait at least one term before serving again; applies to both elected and governor-appointed trustees

Beginning January 1, 2025, PERA must post meeting notices, agendas, presentations, public participation policies, and prior meeting records on its website in downloadable format

Beginning January 1, 2026, PERA must annually disclose employee compensation and bonuses, third-party service provider payments, board and executive travel costs, annual budget, audited financial statements, and salary schedules

Board retains final authority over PERA management while maintaining ability to delegate responsibilities to the executive director, who must file monthly reports on administrative error corrections
