Special districts divided into director districts may cancel elections for individual director districts when races are uncontested, rather than requiring cancellation of the entire district-wide election

Cancellation requires that all statutory conditions for uncontested elections are met and any ballot issues or questions have been withdrawn from that director district's ballot

"Director district" is defined as the area represented by one director within a special district that has adopted a resolution to divide into such districts under Section 32-1-902.7

Act takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case it would require voter approval in November 2026

Applies to elections held on or after the effective date
