Requires websites that publish material harmful to children to implement age verification measures starting July 1, 2026, and must prevent children (under 18 in Colorado) from accessing such content

Covered platforms must offer at least one age verification option that does not require users to disclose their identity, using independently certified technology

Platforms must arrange for annual independent audits of their age verification systems to certify compliance with international standards such as ISO/IEC 27566-1 or IEEE 2089.1

Personal data collected for age verification must be destroyed as soon as reasonably possible after verification, and platforms must comply with the Colorado Privacy Act

Exemptions apply to news organizations, internet service providers, general search engines, cloud service providers, streaming services, and websites that actively prohibit and remove harmful content
