Prescribing providers may adjust the dose or frequency of chronic maintenance drugs without prior authorization or subsequent utilization management from insurance carriers or PBMs

Applies only to drugs already approved for coverage for a patient's chronic or debilitating disease, when the provider continues prescribing for the same condition

Excludes opioids and scheduled controlled substances from this authorization exemption

Dose or frequency adjustments are limited to no more than two times without prior authorization

Takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly, unless a referendum petition is filed (in which case it would go to voters in November 2026)
