HB 25B-1021 Summary

• Increases the maximum sales tax vendor fee that retailers may retain from $1,000 to $2,000 per filing period for sales made on or after January 1, 2026.

• Establishes a minimum percentage floor of 2% of sales tax reported that retailers may retain as a vendor fee beginning January 1, 2026.

• Applies to retailers making less than $1 million per filing period in taxable sales income who currently retain 4% of collected state sales tax.

• Takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly, but requires voter approval at the November 2026 general election if a referendum petition is filed.
