HB 26-1034: Modifications to Environmental Standards for Certain Irrigation Equipment

• Repeals environmental standards for irrigation controllers (both weather-based and soil moisture-based) that were set to take effect January 1, 2026 under HB 23-1161
• Removes the requirement that spray sprinkler bodies include an internal check valve to prevent system drainage during non-operation
• Changes spray sprinkler body standard from meeting WaterSense water efficiency and performance criteria to simply being certified to the WaterSense program specification
• Spray sprinkler bodies must still include an integral pressure regulator to be sold or leased in Colorado
• Takes effect August 12, 2026, unless a referendum petition is filed
