Local education providers would no longer be required to create individualized readiness plans for preschool or kindergarten students who score proficient on both the school readiness assessment and the kindergarten reading assessment

Current law mandates individualized readiness plans for all preschool and kindergarten students; this bill creates an exemption for students meeting proficiency standards

Amends Colorado Revised Statutes sections 22-7-1014 (preschool individualized readiness plans) and 22-7-1205 (reading competency assessments)

Effective date is August 12, 2026, assuming the legislative session adjourns on May 13, 2026, unless a referendum petition is filed
