Transportation network companies (TNCs) are prohibited from retaining more than 20% of consumer fares paid for rides completed through their platforms

Drivers must receive at least 80% of the consumer fare for each transportation task

"Consumer fare" excludes tips and pass-through costs such as tolls from the calculation

TNCs cannot impose additional fees on drivers unless the total take amount plus fees stays at or below 20% of the consumer fare

Effective date is August 12, 2026, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case voters would decide in November 2026
