Prohibits mental health residential facilities located within 1,000 feet of a school from admitting individuals required to register under the Colorado Sex Offender Registration Act

Distance is measured by direct pedestrian access from the nearest school property line to the nearest portion of the mental health residential facility

"School" includes public, parochial, or private schools providing basic academic education for grades 1-12

Amends existing admission criteria established by the Department of Human Services in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Administration and Department of Health Care Policy and Financing

Takes effect August 12, 2026, unless a referendum petition is filed
