Attorney General must submit a proposal to the P.O.S.T. Board by December 31, 2030 to update basic, reserve, and refresher law enforcement training academy programs; if rejected, a new proposal must be submitted within one year

P.O.S.T. Board membership increases from 24 to 28 members, with reduced law enforcement executives (chiefs reduced from 6 to 5, sheriffs from 6 to 5), increased line officers (from 3 to 6), and new positions for training academy directors and reserve officer representatives

Minimum age for peace officer certification raised to 21 years old

Peace officer academy full-time instructors become eligible to receive training or grants for training offered by any state or local entity

Non-law-enforcement board members reduced from 5 to 3, and geographic diversity requirements added for chief and sheriff appointments (urban, suburban, rural representation)
