Senator Faith Winter, a fifth-generation Coloradan, passed away on November 26, 2025, after serving in the Colorado House of Representatives (2015-2019) and Senate (2019-2025) representing Adams, Broomfield, and Weld Counties

More than 200 of her bills passed during her legislative career, including the 2020 Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Act, the 2021 Environmental Justice Act (HB 21-1266), and legislation establishing "free fares for clean air" on public transportation

She chaired the Transportation and Energy Committees in both chambers and worked on bipartisan legislation addressing conservation easements, protection orders for crime victims, affordable housing for abuse victims, and ballot access for candidates with disabilities

Prior to her legislative career, she served on Westminster City Council starting in 2007 and worked in environmental advocacy roles including program director for Colorado Conservation Voters and National Program Director for EnviroCitizen

The joint memorial extends sympathy to her family and directs copies be sent to her children Sienna and Tobin, their father Mark Snook, her partner Matt Gray and his children, her father Michael Winter, and her sister Dawn Stevens
