Resolution recognizes Colorado's two resident tribes—the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe of Towaoc and the Southern Ute Indian Tribe near Ignacio—along with their sister tribe, the Ute Indian Tribe of Fort Duchesne, Utah, collectively known as the Nuuchiu

The three Ute Nations comprise six bands: Weenuche, Kaputa, Mouache, Uncompahgre, Uintah, and White River

Resolution affirms the General Assembly's commitment to maintaining strong, respectful relationships with the sovereign Tribal Nations sharing the state
