Designates the portion of U.S. Highway 34 between Wilson Ave. and North County Rd. 23H as the "Sgt. John 'Jack' Thurman Memorial Highway" in honor of the World War II veteran and Iwo Jima survivor who passed away February 1, 2025, at age 99 in Loveland

Sgt. Thurman served in the U.S. Marine Corps, enlisting on his 18th birthday, received special forces training with "Carlson's Raiders," and earned a Bronze Star Medal along with other military honors for heroism during the Battle of Iwo Jima

Colorado Department of Transportation may accept gifts, grants, and donations for initial placement of memorial highway signs

CDOT may explore cooperative agreements with the City of Loveland and/or Larimer County for maintenance of the memorial signs

Copies of the resolution to be sent to Commander Karen Thurman (his daughter and retired U.S. Navy officer), Larimer County Commissioner John Kefalas, and CDOT Executive Director Shoshana Lew
