Beginning with fiscal year ending June 30, 2010 and each fiscal year thereafter, not less than one-third of projected growth in Indian gaming revenues shall be transferred from the General Fund to the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Fund.

Not less than one-third of the amount transferred to the fund must be distributed to member municipalities of the Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments in amounts proportionate to payments received in the preceding fiscal year.

Distressed municipalities that are members of the Northeastern Connecticut Council of Governments or the Windham Area Council of Governments are also eligible to receive distributions in amounts proportionate to prior year payments.

The bill amends Part IIa of Chapter 32 of the general statutes regarding the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Fund.

Purpose is to increase revenues returning to cities and towns and assist casino-impacted municipalities with host community obligations.
