Pet shop licensees must provide dogs with a certificate of origin identifying the breeder's name and address and any intermediate sellers' information at the time of sale.

Certificate of origin information must be posted conspicuously within 10 feet of where the dog is displayed for sale.

Pet shop licensees must retain electronic or paper copies of certificates of origin for at least one year and make them available for inspection by the Department of Agriculture upon request.

Removes the requirement that pet shop licensees file certificates with the Department of Agriculture within two days of sale.

Pet shop licensees may only purchase dogs or cats for resale from breeders or persons outside the state that possess current licenses from the United States Department of Agriculture and applicable state agencies; violations result in fines up to $100 or imprisonment up to 30 days per violation.
