State agencies and boards issuing professional licenses or certificates must provide credits or exemptions from requirements for applicants with applicable training or experience from armed forces service.

Applicants shall not be required to repeat substantively similar training or schooling already completed during military service.

Credits and exemptions awarded by public higher education institutions must align with American Council on Education guidelines, institutional transfer credit policies, and 38 CFR 21.4253 and 21.4254.

"Armed forces" includes the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, and their reserve components, including the Connecticut National Guard and state militia.
