Motor vehicle operators must remove accumulated ice and snow from all parts of the vehicle (hood, trunk, roof) so it does not pose a threat to persons or property while operating on state streets or highways

Operators who fail to remove ice or snow posing a threat face a $75 fine

Operators whose vehicles shed ice or snow causing personal injury or property damage face $200-$1,000 fines for noncommercial vehicles or $500-$1,250 fines for commercial vehicles

Exemptions apply during active snow, sleet, or freezing rain periods and while vehicles are parked
