HB 5399 Summary

• Requires the Commissioner of Social Services to notify applicants for state supplement, medical assistance, temporary family assistance, and state-administered general assistance programs about repayment liability provisions at the time of application

• Mandates notification to any known persons who may be liable for repayment of aid no later than 30 days after the applicant is determined eligible

• Requires all notices to be written in plain language, in an easily readable and understandable format, and in the applicant's first language whenever possible

• Effective July 1, 2010
