Expands workers' compensation coverage for police officers to include mental or emotional impairment resulting from interaction with a mammal in the line of duty, even without physical injury, if the mammal displayed behavior causing the officer to reasonably believe they faced imminent danger of serious physical injury or death.

Maintains existing workers' compensation provisions for police officers regarding mental or emotional impairment from their use of deadly force or subjection to deadly force in the line of duty.

Defines "police officer" as members of the Division of State Police within the Department of Public Safety, organized local police departments, or municipal constabularies.

Defines "in the line of duty" as any action a police officer is obligated or authorized by law, rule, regulation, or written employment condition to perform, or for which the officer is compensated by their public entity employer.

Effective from passage and applies to any workers' compensation claim pending on or filed on or after the enactment date.
