Allows individuals who become ill, injured, or physically disabled while unemployed to remain eligible for unemployment benefits, despite not being able to work.

Permits unemployed individuals with chronic or long-term physical or mental impairments to limit their job search to part-time employment if they provide documentation from a licensed physician and prove the limitation does not effectively remove them from the labor force.

Requires the administrator to consider the individual's work history, job search efforts, medically permitted work hours, and availability when determining if part-time work limitations are acceptable.

Takes effect upon passage and amends Section 31-235 of the general statutes regarding unemployment benefit eligibility requirements.
