Requires insurers, health care centers, hospital service corporations, medical service corporations, and fraternal benefit societies to establish uniform payment amounts for physicians' professional services for colonoscopy and endoscopic procedures regardless of where the procedure is performed.

Payment rates for these procedures must be at least equal to the amount paid if services are performed at a facility other than an outpatient surgical facility.

Applies to individual and group health insurance policies providing the coverage types specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11), and (12) of section 38a-469 of the general statutes.

Allows contracted physicians, physician groups, or physician organizations to request uniform payment rates and permits them to voluntarily agree to alternative payment methodologies.

Takes effect October 1, 2010.
