Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management shall develop and implement policies and procedures to promote information sharing among state agencies providing services to children, including the Department of Children and Families, Department of Developmental Services, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Department of Education, Labor Department, Department of Public Health, Department of Public Safety, Department of Social Services, Judicial Branch agencies, and the Children's Trust Fund Council.

Secretary shall integrate automated data systems across child-serving agencies to improve the safety, health, and well-being of children, consulting with state agencies and their contracted private providers during development.

Secretary must submit annual progress reports by October 1, 2010, and each year thereafter to relevant joint standing committees, the select committee on children, and the Legislative Program Review and Investigations Committee.

Progress reports shall describe actions taken and proposed to promote information sharing and data system integration, including estimated timeframes for completion and identification of state and federal laws that impede data sharing.

Act takes effect upon passage.
