SB 435 - Municipal Fee Increases

• Increases notary public fees from $5 to $10 plus mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard mileage rate (replacing the 35-cent rate).

• Raises town clerk recording and filing fees: document recording increases to $20 for filing, survey/map recording increases to $20, notary commission recording increases to $20, and notary certification increases to $5.

• Increases marriage license fees from $10 to $20 and burial/removal/transit permit fees from $3 to $5.

• Raises dog licensing penalties from $1 to $2 per month, dog license transfer fees from $1 to $5, kennel license late payment penalties from $1 to $2 per dog, and dog license replacement/transfer tag fees from 50 cents to $5.

• Increases cremation permit fees from $3 to $5 and written notice fees from $1 to $2; increases club/place of business permit filing fees with town clerks from $2 to $15.

• All changes effective July 1, 2010.
