Commissioner of Administrative Services must develop a workplace violence awareness, prevention, and preparedness training program for state employees by January 1, 2012, in consultation with the Commissioners of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Public Safety.

All full-time state employees hired before January 1, 2012, are required to complete the workplace violence training program.

All full-time state employees hired on or after January 1, 2012, must complete the training within six months of their hire date as a condition of employment.

The state must provide an ongoing program of workplace stress awareness and violence prevention within available appropriations for all fiscal years beginning June 30, 1999 and thereafter.

Effective date: October 1, 2011.
