Establishes a task force to study prescription drug coverage insurance plans available to state residents, including review of formularies and notice requirements for formulary changes.

Task force consists of nine members: two appointed by House Speaker, two by Senate President Pro Tempore, one each by House and Senate majority leaders, one each by House and Senate minority leaders, and the Insurance Commissioner or designee.

Appointments must be made within 30 days of the effective date; the Speaker and Senate President Pro Tempore shall select chairpersons who must hold the first meeting within 60 days.

Task force shall submit findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee on insurance by January 1, 2012, and shall terminate on the date of submission or January 1, 2012, whichever is later.

Administrative staff support provided by the joint standing committee on insurance; takes effect upon passage.
