Candidate committees for state office candidates, including General Assembly candidates, cannot distribute remaining campaign funds until the treasurer receives official notice that any audit is completed or that no audit will be conducted.

Audit compliance expenses, including professional fees and material copying costs, are classified as campaign expenses and may be paid from remaining committee funds.

Candidate committees must report any audit expense payments in their final report.

Purpose is to provide financial resources for candidates to cover the cost of responding to audits.
