Establishes mediation services for persons filing for dissolution of marriage in designated Superior Court judicial districts, addressing property, financial, child custody, and visitation issues.

Protects all oral and written communications made to the mediator or between parties during mediation as privileged and inadmissible in court proceedings unless both parties agree otherwise.

Requires parents of minor children who file for dissolution of marriage to participate in the mediation program with their spouse.

Precludes further action on a dissolution complaint for six months from the return day if either party fails to participate in mediation, unless the court waives the requirement for good cause shown.

Effective date: October 1, 2011.
