Probation officers shall provide intensive pretrial supervision services when ordered by the court, following guidelines developed by the Court Support Services Division.

Probation officers must complete alternative sentencing plans for defendants with plea agreements involving prison sentences of two years or less, when ordered by the court.

Probation officers may evaluate inmates sentenced to two years or less imprisonment who have served at least 90 days and complied with institutional rules and treatment programs, then develop community release plans.

Officers developing community release plans must apply for a sentence modification hearing under Connecticut General Statutes section 53a-39.

The act takes effect on April 1, 2011.
