Package store permit holders may now offer fee-based wine education and tasting classes in addition to free tastings and demonstrations, conducted during regular operating hours.

Commissioner of Consumer Protection must adopt regulations governing the content and maximum allowable fees for fee-based wine education and tasting classes offered by package stores.

Package stores may continue to sell authorized merchandise including cigarettes, bar utensils, beer and wine-making kits, lottery tickets, gift baskets, and other specified non-alcoholic items.

Grocery store beer permit annual fee remains one hundred sixty dollars plus required sum under section 30-66.

Effective date is October 1, 2011.
