Charter Oak State College shall waive course enrollment fees for veterans who performed service in time of war, are accepted for admission to the college, and are domiciled in Connecticut at the time of acceptance.

Charter Oak State College shall waive course enrollment fees for active members of the Connecticut Army or Air National Guard certified as members in good standing by the Adjutant General, enrolled or accepted on a full-time or part-time basis in a degree-granting program.

Any course enrollment fee waiver shall be reduced by the amount of educational reimbursement the veteran or guard member receives from an employer.

Veterans who have applied for federal educational assistance under the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 shall have course enrollment fees waived only for the portion exceeding their federal education benefit calculated as a percentage of total fees.

The act takes effect July 1, 2011, and amends Section 10a-143 of the general statutes.
