Removes provision allowing parents to consent to a 17-year-old child's withdrawal from school, effective July 1, 2011.

Requires school principals to notify parents or guardians in writing or electronically when students in grades 6-12 are in danger of failing a course.

Notification must occur at the middle of the marking period or at least six weeks before the final grade is recorded, whichever happens sooner.

Maintains existing compulsory school attendance requirements for children ages 5-18, with exceptions for high school graduates or equivalent instruction.
