HB 6611 Summary

• Establishes a state-wide single point of entry system for long-term care administered by the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services and Aging Services Division, effective July 1, 2011.

• Designates geographical service areas where single point of entry entities provide information on all long-term care options including community, home-based, and nursing home care to all individuals regardless of payment method.

• Requires single point of entry entities to assess eligibility for long-term care services, assist with Medicaid determinations, develop person-centered care plans, and implement quality assurance standards.

• Authorizes directors of Rehabilitation Services and Aging Services to establish additional operational requirements and performance standards, with authority to terminate entities that fail to comply.

• Requires the Office of Policy and Management to develop and maintain a consumer-oriented website providing comprehensive long-term care information and referral resources, in consultation with relevant legislative committees and the Long-Term Care Advisory Council.
