Repeals and replaces Section 47-255 to modify insurance requirements for common interest communities, effective October 1, 2011.

Removes mandatory insurance requirements for buildings with units divided by vertical boundaries within common walls between units.

Eliminates requirement for associations with more than twelve units to maintain schedules of standard fixtures, improvements, and betterments and provide them to unit owners annually.

Changes language to clarify that property insurance need not include all improvements and betterments installed by unit owners, removing provisions about association discretion to limit or exclude such coverage.

Removes Section 47-255 from applicability to common interest communities created before January 1, 1984, while maintaining other specified sections' application to older communities.
