Police Officer Standards and Training Council shall conduct a comprehensive study of electronic defense weapons used by police officers in their duties.

Study must examine development and implementation of training requirements for officers using electronic defense weapons.

Study must include guidelines on appropriate use of electronic defense weapons, circumstances when they should not be used, and vulnerable persons against whom use is not advised.

Council shall report findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee on the judiciary no later than February 1, 2012.
