Prohibits persons convicted of sexual assault (sections 53a-70, 53a-71, or 53a-72a) where the victim was under 16 years old from residing within 2,000 feet of public or private elementary/secondary schools or child day care facilities upon release into the community, effective October 1, 2011.

Exempts persons who established residence within 2,000 feet of such property before the effective date of this section.

Exempts persons if a school or child day care facility is newly located within 2,000 feet of their established residence after the effective date.

Violating the residency restriction constitutes a class A misdemeanor.
