Repeals and replaces Section 38a-492m governing individual health insurance policies and Section 38a-518l governing group health insurance policies, effective January 1, 2012

Requires individual and group health insurance policies covering prescription eye drops to allow renewal of eye drops when requested less than thirty days from the original prescription or last renewal date, if the prescribing physician indicated additional quantities were needed and the requested amount does not exceed what was authorized

Mandates coverage for one additional bottle of prescription eye drops every three months when requested at time of original fill if the physician indicates the extra bottle is needed for use in a day care center or school

Applies to health insurance policies of types specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11) and (12) of Section 38a-469 that provide prescription eye drop coverage
