SB 1008 - State Bond Authorization

• Authorizes $266,146,556 in state bonds effective July 1, 2011 for capital improvements across multiple state agencies including IT systems, building renovations, infrastructure repairs, and facility upgrades.

• Authorizes $80,000,000 in bonds effective July 1, 2011 for the Department of Economic and Community Development for housing development, rehabilitation, and supportive housing initiatives.

• Authorizes $75,000,000 in bonds effective July 1, 2011 for grants-in-aid to various departments and municipalities for environmental remediation, open space acquisition, health center improvements, and other community projects.

• Authorizes $202,440,135 in bonds effective July 1, 2012 for state agency capital projects including community college improvements at Naugatuck Valley ($39,008,382), regional vocational-technical school upgrades ($28,000,000), and state office building renovations.

• Authorizes $139,000,000 in additional bonds effective July 1, 2012 for Department of Economic and Community Development housing programs ($50,000,000) and grants-in-aid for environmental and community development projects ($89,000,000).
