Commissioner of Veterans' Affairs shall erect a footstone at the grave of any deceased Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Comptroller, Attorney General, or member of the General Assembly who died after January 1, 1971, marked with the state seal, name, death date, and offices served.

Commissioner of Veterans' Affairs shall provide a flag holder and Connecticut state flag for graves of eligible state officials.

Commissioner of Public Safety shall provide an honor guard of six state policemen to attend funerals and burials of deceased Governors, Lieutenant Governors, Secretaries of State, Treasurers, Comptrollers, or Attorneys General upon request of next of kin.

Executive director of the Joint Committee on Legislative Management shall direct the Office of State Capitol Police to provide an honor guard of State Capitol police officers for funerals and burials of deceased General Assembly members upon request of next of kin, provided the funeral and burial take place in Connecticut.

Changes pronouns from "his" to "his or her" throughout the statute and adds requirement that General Assembly member funerals take place in-state.
