Individual health insurance policies in Connecticut that cover dental care services must continue coverage for children through the policy anniversary date on or after they turn 26 years old, effective January 1, 2012.

Group health insurance policies in Connecticut that cover dental care services must continue coverage for children through the policy anniversary date on or after they turn 26 years old, effective January 1, 2012.

Both individual and group health insurance policies must cover stepchildren on the same basis as biological children for dental care services.

The requirements apply to policies of the types specified in section 38a-469 of Connecticut General Statutes.
