Condominium unit owners must provide prospective buyers or lessees with written notice of the unit's bed bug infestation history for the one-year period before entering into a sale or lease agreement, effective October 1, 2011.

Landlords must provide prospective tenants with written notice of the dwelling unit's bed bug infestation history for the one-year period before entering into a rental agreement, effective October 1, 2011.

Hotel and lodging house operators must provide prospective guests with written or verbal notice of the property's bed bug infestation history for the one-year period preceding the guest's inquiry; if an infestation occurs after a reservation is made, operators must notify the guest within 24 hours of discovery, effective October 1, 2011.

The Department of Public Health shall develop a standardized written notice form by September 1, 2011 that documents infestation dates, extent of infestation, eradication methods, and the date the infestation ended.

The Department of Public Health may investigate complaints that required notices were not provided and may order compliance with notification requirements.
