Chief State's Attorney shall establish formal training programs for prosecuting attorneys: at least five days for newly-appointed attorneys and at least two days annually for all prosecuting attorneys, commencing January 1, 1998

Chief State's Attorney must submit annual reports to the joint standing committee on judiciary detailing the type of training provided and number of newly-appointed and total prosecuting attorneys trained

First annual report due no later than January 1, 2012, with subsequent reports required by January 1st each year thereafter

Effective date: October 1, 2011

Purpose is to measure and assure competency of state prosecutors through tracking training data
