Scrap metal processors must record descriptions, weight, price, and identification of persons delivering scrap metal; photograph motor vehicles including license plates; and maintain records for at least two years for law enforcement inspection (effective October 1, 2011).

Wire, cable, and electrical equipment scrap must be segregated and held for five days unless purchased from licensed demolition contractors or persons who have already segregated the material and provided written certification of segregation.

Scrap metal processors, junk dealers, and junk yard operators must immediately notify municipal law enforcement of anyone attempting to sell bronze statues, plaques, historical markers, cannons, bells, lamps, lamp posts, or similar items.

Persons age 65 or older holding Department of Consumer Protection licenses may obtain a retirement status license for $20 that prohibits active practice of their licensed occupation (effective January 1, 2012).

Pharmacists may substitute generic drugs for brand name prescriptions if therapeutically equivalent and less expensive; pharmacists must disclose substitutions to patients and practitioners and label containers with both the dispensed drug name and the original brand name (effective October 1, 2011).
